Day Bike From Imlil to Asni
Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Marrakech, heading towards the Imlil Valley, often referred to as the “Moroccan Chamonix.”
Upon arrival in Imlil, your biking journey starts by heading southwest towards the region’s most significant village, known for its vibrant Berber markets held every Saturday or Tuesday.
You’ll continue along an asphalt track that gradually climbs to the mountain-top village of Tamatert. The route winds up through the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass, perched at an altitude of 2300 meters, where you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding mountain landscapes.
From the pass, you’ll have the option to descend via either a single track or off-road paths. The ride continues along the picturesque Imnan Valley, offering breathtaking views of cultivated terraces and traditional Berber villages.
After a satisfying cooked lunch in Arg, the descent resumes until you reach the village of Asni. Here, you’ll take a well-deserved rest before returning to Marrakech with a short one-hour drive.

Day 1: Marrakech to Ourika Valley
Morning — Departure from Marrakech
Pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech.
Drive to Imlil Valley (approximately 1.5 hours).
Arrival and bike setup in Imlil, known as the “Moroccan Chamonix.”
Start of the Biking Tour
Begin biking southwest towards the region’s main village, famous for its Berber markets on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
Ride along an asphalt road that gradually climbs to Tamatert village.
Ascend the scenic zigzag route of Tizi n’Tamatert Pass at 2300 meters altitude.
Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Toubkal and the surrounding mountain slopes.
Descent and Scenic Ride
From the pass, choose between:
Single track descent, or
Off-road paths through the mountains.
Ride through the Imnan Valley, passing cultivated terraces and traditional Berber villages.
Lunch Break
Stop for a freshly cooked lunch in Arg village.
Afternoon — Continue the Descent
Resume your ride, descending further until you reach the village of Asni.
Rest and refresh in Asni.
Return to Marrakech
Transfer back to Marrakech by vehicle (about 1-hour drive).
Drop-off at your accommodation by late afternoon.
